Becki Newton
Born in New Haven, Connecticut, Becki Newton grew up within Guilford, Connecticut. Becki Newton is of English and Czech heritage and first began to perform performances and musicals at local theaters. She also attended the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated with the degree of a B.A. of European History. Newton, an Penn pupil, was a member Alpha Chi Omega. After graduation, Newton then moved to New York City and landed various roles on television in commercials for such companies as for instance the Olive Garden. Newton was the character Amanda Tanen on the comedy-drama Ugly Betty series from 2006 through 2010. Newton as well as the co-star Michael Urie co-hosted The Official Ugly Betty Blog. Newton also appeared on ABC.com's Mode After Hours webisode series. Ugly Betty was canceled in 2010. It was after four consecutive seasons that were successful, that allowed the show a full-on series end. Newton was the first to make her New York City Center encores debut in 2009. presentation of the Gershwin musical Girl Crazy, which was produced by Jerry Zaks. Newton played Molly Gray opposite her real-life husband Chris Diamantopoulos. Newton starred in the television series Love Bites. The hour-long romantic comedy was co-created by the executive producer Cindy Chupack, who worked for Sex and the City. NBC took the show on beginning in May of 2010 the reason for this was Newton's announcement that she was pregnant, Jordana Spiro's contractual commitment to be with My Boys however, the show was cancelled later, and Chupack wanting to leave Love Bites, the premiere was delayed until mid-season.
